“Those who do not move, do not notice their chains”
Rosa Luxemburg
Each of us is on an eternal journey. We marvel at the many miracles around us yet there is no greater miracle than life itself. Day by day quantum physics is unraveling the infinite possibilities of life. Our species has not yet awakened to its true nature. We have no or little understanding of what the human being actually is, and less still what powers the human being has. On my travels I met with remarkable men and women who defied established parameters. People who could seemingly perform the impossible. Today i am asking you to redefine what is possible.
Humanity is at an evolutionary crossroads. As we emerge into the aftermath of this historic global recession humanity recognises the need for a different kind of politics, a different kind of economics, a different kind of thinking. According to
current estimates there are 7.5 billion people living on our planet today. On current UN projections there will be 11.5 billion global citizens by 2050. Clearly, if we are to survive as a species we need to evolve into a new global paradigm which will include not only planetary sustainability but the prospect of more underground residential development and space colonisation.
To become spiritual is not to withdraw from the world. It is to challenge. To participate in the world. To be an activist. Christ our God, the Prophet Mohammed, Moses, Lao Tzu and even the Buddha were all active in the world. They lived to make the lives of people better. We were not born in physical bodies to transcend the physical but to elevate it.
The world’s richest one thousand control 95% of the world’s resources. One in three of our fellow humans does not have safe drinking water, one in four do not have adequate housing, one in five do not have access to medical health services and 20 per cent of all children sadly are malnourished. Even in the USA, the world’s richest country twelve million families today are at risk of hunger, and a million people will sleep homeless tonight without shelter. Yet the European Union, the richest conglomerate of nations on our planet has over decades destroyed mountains of butter, oranges and other foodstuffs rather than feed the poor.
The worlds raw materials, food, energy, scientific know how and educational facilities belong to everyone. We therefore need to share resources rather than waste energy competing for them. It is time for a new sense of globality.
